Another Lyrical Interlude

Everything is fine, really, despite my quoting of Evanescence below (and for some reason it's posting as larger than everything else here ... not intentional, I swear!!!!). I'm devastated about someone else's misfortunes (and him not handling them particularly well, although I do want to emphasize that they're pretty malevolent misfortunes and I'm probably coming off as a heartless witch). Even deeper inside myself, though, there's the nagging wish that something had worked out differently in my life--this would not have been possible ever, but sometimes you gotta wonder why destiny throws you a lifeline then constantly keeps it just out of your reach. Blah ... and I'm sure nobody knows what I'm talking about on that one, since it's not something anyone really knows about.

So ... onward with the soundtrack of my brain right now. Jesus, I need to lighten up ...

"I've heard this life is overrated,

but I hope that it gets better as we go.

I'm here without you, baby
but you're still on my lonely mind
I think about you, baby
and I dream about you all the time."
--3 Doors Down

"I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along."
--Evanescence
