Now how does a small group like this take it to the next step and make something positive of the situation? It is time controls are established so tax dollars are spent responsibly. Both by people who receives benefits and politicians you spend out labor.

Really like what you write here, JimAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196908370614674789.post-29451643038035302572012-06-30T10:08:31.016-04:002012-06-30T10:08:31.016-04:00Evidently there isn't in New Hampshire ;-) Th...Evidently there isn't in New Hampshire ;-) There should be, though. It's unfortunate that she got fired for standing up for what should be right. I thought there was a list of things that could not be purchased but I may be wrong. Cigs should be on that list.Peaceful Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10265198438524420667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196908370614674789.post-27921064774246631682012-06-29T12:57:28.040-04:002012-06-29T12:57:28.040-04:00Well as someone on welfare I find, and know, that ...Well as someone on welfare I find, and know, that there are a lot of people that misuse the money or "cheat the system" as you put it. If the money could be used for whatever he wanted though, then he was actually entitled to the cigarettes. I don't drink or smoke myself so I'm not likely to find myself in a situation like this. If I was the cashier I don't think I'd have taken the same actions she did, but the man's attitude towards it sure was galling and I can see why people would be angry.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12118816573712396453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196908370614674789.post-54398849338528750732012-06-29T12:46:08.347-04:002012-06-29T12:46:08.347-04:00The big problem with welfare is not the system, bu...The big problem with welfare is not the system, but the people that abuse it.

Everyone falls on hard times at some point in their life and I have no problem with help to get back on your feet or tide you over while the economy recovers from the crap dumped on it. That's what a civilsed nation should do. Living on benefits for your whole life is not on and having kids just to maintain that claim is morally wrong.

As for what you buy with it, I'd add cable TV to the banned list as well.

(n.b. Just don't get me started on alcoholics who refuse treatment but get on the list for liver transplant.... or the person in hospital for lung disease who stands outside the hospital to smoke cigarettes.
Jane xJane and Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08102086552682194819noreply@blogger.com
