Just because you _hope_ to do something doesn't mean that you _can_ do it, that's why a hero is special, but the acts of heroes give us courage that we lack in our inner selves.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196908370614674789.post-63469513325860957522012-10-09T06:49:45.618-04:002012-10-09T06:49:45.618-04:00Now that's philosophy. I understand where you're coming from on two fronts: 1.) the archetypal version of many things are often miserable people (think of Einstein or Mozart, for example), and 2.) I do not want to be a copy of someone else, even if they are fabulous in every conceivable way. I may have "hero worship" for certain aspects of certain people (wishing I could speak like Bill Clinton, for example), but I do not wish to *be* like them. So I guess some future me is my hero, too...I just never really thought about it. This was incredibly well written and well thought out. I would just wonder if our inner self and our future can take aspects of folks that we admire, and just those aspects, as a model of what we ourselves want to do. Sometimes having examples and seeing where their pitfalls were makes our journeys easier. I don't know if this qualifies as being a hero, or if it is only admiration which is something of a lesser degree.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06509259073850516467noreply@blogger.com
